South Carolina women put away Ole Miss to pick up SEC road win

The No. 4 South Carolina Gamecocks picked up their first SEC road victory of the season, winning 88-62 at Mississippi on Thursday.

The Rebels didn’t quit, mounting multiple rallies to stay within striking distance of the Gamecocks (13-1, 2-0 SEC). But South Carolina never let it get too uncomfortable, and closed the game out on a 29-12 run.

A’ja Wilson scored 25 points with 15 rebounds, good for her 11th double-double this season. The performance also moved her farther up the program’s record books: Wilson is now third in points (1986), fourth in rebounds (964), tied for fifth in double-doubles (41) and tied for fourth in 20-point games (35).
