South Carolina women's basketball isn't just easing into the 2025 season, they are making a statement. On Wednesday night, Dawn Staley's No. 2 Gamecocks flexed every ounce of their firepower in a 106-56 dismantling of Winthrop, improving to 5-0 for the fifth straight year. It was another statement win onto an already loaded November résumé.
Fresh off a gritty, reputation-boosting road victory over No. 11 Southern Cal, the Gamecocks returned home and looked every bit like a championship team. Three separate players, Ta'Niya Latson (24), Madina Okot (23), and Joyce Edwards (22), crossed the 20-point mark, something South Carolina has not done since the A'ja Wilson/Alaina Coates era in 2014.
