South Carolina adds to 2018 class with commitment from safety RJ Roderick

Safety RJ Roderick has become South Carolina’s latest commitment of its 2018 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.

Roderick, from Summerville (S.C.) Cane Bay, reportedly announced the decision to Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson at South Carolina’s camp Saturday. When he arrived at the Jerri and Steve Spurrier Indoor Practice Facility, he wore a Gamecocks shirt and hat.

Muschamp later essentially confirmed the news on Twitter, when he tweeted his customary “#SpursUp!!” in celebration of a commitment.

Along with South Carolina, the 6-foot, 207-pound Roderick also has offers from, among others, Duke, Georgia Tech, NC State and Virginia.
