Slow start dooms Gamecocks in 17-10 loss to Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. — It was the kind of slow start that had to leave Will Muschamp dealing with some unwanted deja vu from the first two games of South Carolina’ season against Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. The kind of slow start — five three-and-outs in six first-half drives against Kentucky — that left the head coach standing alone for a brief moment at halftime, hands on his hips, grimace on his face.

And when it was all said and done, it was the kind of slow start that was too much for Muschamp’s Gamecocks to overcome as the night ensued.
