Sellout crowd awaits rematch between South Carolina and Alabama

COLUMBIA — If South Carolina had its way, one bad night in Tuscaloosa would be forgotten forever. But with Alabama coming to Colonial Life Arena, head coach Frank Martin is forced to relive it all over again.

Not only did Martin not show his team the film of the 73-50 rout in Coleman Coliseum on Jan. 13, he hadn’t watched it himself — at least, not until the days prior to Saturday’s 6 p.m. contest in Columbia, where the Gamecocks will draw their first sellout crowd of the season to their 18,000-seat home arena.

“I just kind of ignored that game like it never happened,” Martin said following USC’s victory Thursday night over Mississippi State.
