Raymond Doby becomes third freshman to be dismissed from USC men's program

COLUMBIA — The discipline-related overhaul of the South Carolina basketball team continued Tuesday, when head coach Frank Martin announced that freshman forward Raymond Doby was no longer with the Gamecocks.

Doby was charged with first-offense possession of marijuana or 10 grams or less of hash on March 26, according to Lexington County public records. He becomes the third member of the USC program to be dismissed, after freshmen Eric Cobb and Jamall Gregory, who were arrested in March on property damage charges stemming from BB gun incidents.

“Unfortunately as our end-of-year meetings continued to happen, Raymond Doby and I agreed that a change of scenery would be good for him,” Martin said in a statement.
