In more big news for the South Carolina Gamecocks, senior quarterback Jake Bentley announced his intention to transfer out of the program on Monday morning.
Bentley will join what has recently been a bustling market of graduate transfer quarterbacks, although he didn’t reveal any potential destinations in his post. Bobby Bentley, his father, will remain on staff with the Gamecocks as the tight ends coach.
Bentley came to South Carolina in 2016, graduating from high school a year early and playing right away as a freshman when incumbent starters Perry Orth and Brandon McIlwain couldn’t hang on to the job.
