The 89th Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas is set for December 20, and several South Carolina Gamecock commitments will showcase their talent in one of the region's most prestigious all-star games. The game will take place at Viking Stadium on the campus of Spartanburg High School on Dec. 20 at 1:00 p.m.

South Pointe's J'Zavien Currence, one of the Gamecocks' cornerstone defensive back pledges, headlines the South Carolina squad. He will play his college position in the secondary. Tight end pledge Jamel Howse also received the honor, although he will line up as a wide receiver in the game.
