Former South Carolina baseball great Michael Roth landed with a new MLB organization this week.

The 27-year-old signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs on Friday according to a report from SBNation's Chris Cotillo. Roth spent 2017 with the San Francisco and Tampa Bay organizations.

He has not pitched in the majors since one game for the Texas Rangers in 2016. He also pitched for the Los Angeles Angels in 2013 and 2015.

For his career, he's thrown 36 major league innings. Last year in the minors, he went 6-8 with a 4.
