When you take over South Carolina’s program, you have to beat Clemson. It didn’t take Will Muschamp long to figure that out.
“Maybe the first day on the job, when 38 people tell you to beat Clemson,” he said.
He didn’t do it the first time, but the second-year South Carolina coach gets another chance Saturday, and he discussed the Gamecocks’ preparations during his weekly news conference before the Gamecocks’ regular-season finale against Clemson.
There’s no Deshaun Watson this season – but that isn’t the same as no problem for the Gamecocks.

Last year, the Gamecocks were taken apart by Watson in a 56-7 Clemson victory.
