He started 14 games for Gamecock baseball as freshman. Now he’s in the transfer portal

The South Carolina baseball team lost a key arm last fall when news broke sophomore pitcher Logan Chapman would be sidelined because of Tommy John surgery.

Mark Kingston’s team might now lose him for good.

Chapman put his name in the NCAA transfer portal on Monday the school confirmed to The State. It was first reported by The Big Spur, who said he intends to leave.

As a freshman in 2018, Chapman started 14 games, going 3-3 with a 5.85 ERA in 60 innings. He struck out 55 batters.

He was an all-state player and 36th-round draft pick out of high school.
