Halftime Recap: South Carolina Trails LSU 10–7 in a Gritty, Frustrating First Half in Baton Rouge

The first half in Death Valley did not deliver fireworks, but it did deliver tension. LSU leads South Carolina 10-7 at the half, wrapping a slow-burning first half whose story is equal parts hope and heartbreak for the Gamecocks.

Early in the game, South Carolina forced an LSU fumble in its own red zone. That set the stage for what became a statement play: a three-play, 80-yard touchdown capped by a 72-yard burst from Matt Fuller. That is exactly the kind of play you need in hostile territory. Fuller, who carried the load in the fourth quarter against Kentucky, isn't officially RB1, but he is making the case in Death Valley.
