Gamecocks' Frank Martin adds another big man to 2017 recruiting class

South Carolina basketball coach Frank Martin is losing two of his most effective big men after this season, and on Monday received a commitment from a player he hopes can replace one of them.

Maik Kotsar, a 6-9 native of Estonia who plays at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kan., visited USC for several days last week and on Monday announced his decision. The Gamecocks will lose seniors Laimonas Chatkevicius and Mindaugas Kacinas at the end of the season.

Kotsar, a member of Estonia’s 18 and under national team, joins 6-10 Sedee Keita of Philadelphia, giving the Gamecocks a big man tandem in the class that also includes point guard Kareem Felder, who committed Sunday night.
