Gamecocks could ‘shock the world’ but maybe not themselves

In a college football season with little drama so far, South Carolina could shock the sport’s ecosystem and possibly scramble the College Football Playoff with a win over No. 2 Clemson on Saturday.

Bryan Edwards isn’t thinking like that, though.

“I’m not really worried about shocking the world or this and that,” the Gamecocks junior wide receiver said. “I’m just trying to win a game. We have to have the self-belief that we’re not trying to shock the world. We’re just going out and trying to get a win.”

The Gamecocks (6-4) are 26-point underdogs against the Tigers (11-0), who have won four straight in this series.
