Through eight weeks, Nielson's data showed that college football has consistently pulled top national numbers, even over the against the NFL and MLB postseason. Now with Week 9 in the books, ABC and ESPN have widened their lead with three slots for the most-watched games. The leader was South Carolina's showdown against Alabama with 7.8 million viewers.
The game peaked at 10.3 million viewers, making it the most watched broadcast of the day across all sports.
