South Carolina student-athletes set records in the fall 2018 semester, finishing with an overall departmental GPA of 3.335, the highest in athletic department history. The football team also earned its highest GPA to date (3.026).
This also marks the 24th consecutive semester with an overall departmental GPA above 3.0. Seventeen of the 18 teams earned a 3.0 or better GPA during the fall semester.
“The results from fall 2018 exemplify how our student-athletes utilized their resources to have the best semester in the history of our program,” Maria Hickman, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academics and Student Development, said in a press release.
