The Gamecocks outlasted No. 20 Georgia in Athens, 77-65, to take sole possession of second place in the SEC standings. The victory broke a three-way tie behind leader Mississippi State between No. 11 Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina, and positions the Gamecocks well for the SEC Tournament.

Ty Harris led the Gamecocks with 20 points and A’ja Wilson notched another double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. The Gamecocks took advantage of the Bulldogs’ foul trouble, racking up 25 free-throw attempts and converting 27 of them.
