South Carolina announced last month that former starting quarterback Connor Mitch would transfer, and he announced Monday he will continue his college career at James Madison.
James Madison is a FCS school, and Mitch thus will be eligible immediately.
Mitch started the first two games last season before shoulder and hip injuries ended his season. Mitch, a four-star prospect out of high school in Raleigh, N.C., was the Gamecocks’ third-string quarterback, behind senior Perry Orth and true freshman early enrollee Brandon McIlwain, on the post-spring depth chart.
He was 15-of-35 for 184 yards and one touchdown in his career at South Carolina.
