The Gamecocks’ enter every home game at Williams-Brice Stadium to the introduction of “Also sprach Zarathustra”, or otherwise known from the film “2001: A Space Odyssey”. This tradition was started by Coach Joe Morrison with his first game in 1983.
Often getting knocked because it lacks length in tradition, does not stop the chills you get when you here it. It is an emotional roller coaster everytime it starts, and slowly uplifts you throughout the segment. The crowd is screaming GAME-COCKS throughout the stadium, Cocky has just been unleashed and the players are ready to go.
And by the time it’s done, your screaming your head off, waiving your towel, and ready for some Carolina football!
