Seven SEC women's basketball teams earned bids to the 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship and one to the 2018 Postseason WNIT as brackets were announced Monday night.
Mississippi State earned a No. 1 seed for the first time in the 36-year history of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. It's the 10th appearance for the Bulldogs. They will host Nicholls State on Saturday at 5 pm CT in their first round game in the Kansas City Region.
A No. 2 seed, defending national champion South Carolina will host NC A&T on Friday at 7:30 pm ET in the first round of the Albany Region.
