South Carolina wide receiver and kick returner Deebo Samuel was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL Draft on Friday, April 26, 2019.
He went 36th overall, fourth pick in the second round.
Samuel caught 148 passes for 2,076 yards and 16 touchdowns in four seasons at South Carolina. He also tied the SEC career record with four kickoff return touchdowns. He was named All-SEC last season after catching 62 passes for 862 yards and 11 touchdowns and amassing 570 return yards with one touchdown, a 90-yard return against Ole Miss. His 210 receiving yards against Clemson were the second-highest total in school history.
