Prince, who was just 57, joined an already shockingly long list of music icons to pass in 2016. Merle Haggard (79) Glenn Frey (67), David Bowie (69) and Lemmy Kilmister (70) have died in the first five months of the year (Kilmister actually died in late December but … ) with seemingly so much left to give. Prince, Haggard and Kilmister (with his band Motorhead) still were touring.
Whether we want to admit this or not, college football is headed toward a similar successive passing of icons.
