Chris Silva recognized as one of SEC’s best | The State

South Carolina’s lone representative on the All-SEC teams is a big one.

Chris Silva, USC’s 6-foot-9, 223-pound highlight machine of a forward, was named to the league’s first team Tuesday. He also took co-defensive player of the year honors with Texas A&M’s Robert Williams.

Silva is averaging 14.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season. The junior is second nationally in fouls drawn per 40 minutes (9.0) and is first in free throw rate. He’s fourth in the SEC in rebounding and 14th in scoring.

Silva is 13 points shy of 1,000 for his career.
