The South Carolina softball team advanced to the super regionals over the weekend after surviving three straight elimination games. And sure, it likely was due to the team's impressive pitching, the hitting heroics of several clutch players and everyone's incredible determination and grit, but some credit should also probably go to the team's unofficial mascot.

That would of course be Champ Staley, the beloved dog of Gamecocks women's basketball coach Dawn Staley. A bow-tie-wearing Champ was in attendance for much of the weekend's action, sometimes even without Staley.
He even entertained the team during a rain delay on Friday.
