South Carolina running backs coach Bobby Bentley made his name coaching high-flying offensive with prolific quarterbacks at Byrnes. He also helped mold three sons into college quarterbacks.
For the next two weeks, he’ll be coaching one of his sons again.
Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp said Bentley will fill in as the team’s quarterbacks coach during preparation for the Outback Bowl. He’ll work with his son Jake. Tight ends coach Pat Washington will work with the running backs and offensive analyst Seth Strickland will worth with the tight ends.
Bobby Bentley built Byrnes into a powerhouse, winning four state titles in a row before jumping to Presbyterian College in 2007.
