The South Carolina Gamecocks have a representative on the coaches’ All-SEC preseason first team in sophomore guard A.J. Lawson.
Lawson averaged 13.4 points last season and led the Gamecocks in scoring 12 times as his impressive rookie campaign netted him All-SEC freshman team honors. Lawson flirted with the NBA Draft, but ultimately withdrew his name from consideration.
Lawson is currently projected by some outlets as a potential first-round draft pick, and should certainly be poised to have a big season for the Gamecocks.
