Three-star athlete Bryce Thompson became the latest in-state receiver to commit to South Carolina, announcing his decision Wednesday on Twitter.

Thompson (6 feet 0, 180 pounds) is from Irmo (S.C.) Dutch Fork, on the outskirts of the Columbia area. Before selecting the Gamecocks, he previously had been committed to Virginia Tech from July 2016 to June 2017. His other Power Five offers included North Carolina State and Washington State.
Though he’s listed variously as an athlete and a wide receiver, Thompson has been most often viewed as a receiver in college.
