The newly ranked Gamecocks didn’t look very impressive at the plate on Thursday night, dropping the first game of the series against Texas A&M after the Aggies rallied late.
Texas A&M got on the board first, taking a 2-0 lead on a home run in the first inning. Another homer in the second put the Aggies up 3-0.
No. 23 South Carolina ended the shutout in the third inning, when Matt Williams singled to lead off and advanced on a passed ball, then came home on an RBI single by Noah Campbell to make the score 3-1.
