MONTREAL, Canada - Behind double-digit efforts by sophomore Shaforia Kines (15 points), junior Genesis Perrymond (15 points) and senior Chyna Ellis (11 points), the University of South Alabama women's basketball team defeated the Montreal All-Stars 68-50 Thursday night to commence its three-game Canada tour.
"It feels good to get the first game of the trip under our belt," head coach Terry Fowler said. "After 10 practices, traveling and sightseeing I feel our team was a little nervous to start the game. It took us three-and-a-half quarters to finally get a rhythm."
Ellis led the team with nine rebounds, while Kines grabbed seven boards and Perrymond brought down four.
