WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CRUISES PAST MOBILE IN SEASON OPENER

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's basketball cruised past Mobile, 70-40 in the season-opener at the Mitchell Center Wednesday afternoon.

Holding a nine-point lead entering the second quarter, 16-7, South rocketed further in front holding the visiting Rams to four points while dropping 20 in the frame. USA spread the scoring out with six players getting on the scoresheet lead by Savannah Jones with five off two field goals. The Jaguars forced four turnovers with an advantage of seven in rebounds (15-8).

Mobile were led by D'Mya Ferguson who had a double-double off the bench with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
