South Alabama is playing for positioning in the Sun Belt Conference basketball standings heading into its final two-game home stand of the 2017-18 season.
With four regular-season games to play, the Jaguars (14-13, 7-7 Sun Belt) are in a three-way tie for fourth place in the 12-team conference. On Thursday night, USA hosts Louisiana-Monroe, which is also 7-7 in league play.
The Jaguars' other three games are against teams ahead of them in the standings, with first-place Louisiana-Lafayette (13-1 in conference) visiting the Mitchell Center on Saturday night. USA then finishes up the regular season at third-place Georgia Southern (8-6) on March 1 and at Georgia State (10-4) on March 3.
