Uys breaks school record, Jaguar track and field has strong showing at Samford Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The South Alabama track and field teams had another strong showing to start the season, breaking one school record and two meet records at the Samford Invitational on Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Colette Uys set a new school record in the shot put, reaching a distance of 15.77 meters, beating the previous record by .30 meters. She finished in fourth place in the competition.

Pole-vaulter Kyle Rademeyer set a new meet record for the Samford Invitational, reaching a height of 5.48 meters.
