BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB scored six runs in the first inning and the University of South Alabama softball team left a season-high 12 runners on base Tuesday night as the Blazers picked up an 8-3 win over the Jaguars at Mary Bowers Field.

"I thought we had some situations in the game where we could get back in it, but we didn't get the job done at the plate," South Alabama head coach Becky Clark said. "There were some places in the game where with two strikes, we have to battle, put the ball in play and make them have to do something, and we didn't do that tonight.
