Troy swept South Alabama in a doubleheader Friday at Riddle-Pace Field, getting shutdown pitching from Andrew Crane to win 3-0 in Game 1 and smashing five extra-base hits in an 11-1 rout in the night cap.
The victories improve the Trojans to 38-17 overall and 19-10 in Sun Belt Conference play, good enough for second in the East Division. The Jaguars fall to 29-23, 17-11, and drop into fourth place pending the result of Friday's late game between Georgia Southern and Georgia State.
Troy has now won six straight games. Game 3 of the series -- the regular-season finale for both teams -- is set for 6 p.
