NASHVILLE – University of South Alabama football wide receiver Jalen Tolbert continued to rack up weekly awards as he was named the Maxwell Award Player of the Week – his fourth honor of the week – on Thursday after his performance in the Jaguars' season-opening win at Southern Miss.
Tolbert recorded six receptions for 169 yards with two touchdowns, helping the Jag offense finish with 526 yards of total offense. The Mobile, Ala., native gave South the lead for good when he took the third play of the game 73 yards for a touchdown, while also later scoring with a 31-yard reception to cap the Jags' opening possession of the second half.
