MALIBU, Calif. – University of South Alabama junior Alexandria Stiteler (Bradenton, Fla.) dropped Elizabeth Tsvetokov of Stony Brook in singles consolation play in the Oracle/ITA Masters, hosted at Pepperdine University, Friday.
"It was a good win today," said USA head coach Jaco Keyser. "Any win at this tournament is impressive and should build confidence."
After defeating Tsvetokov 6-4, 7-5, Stiteler will face off against Idaho's Marianna Petrel, ranked No. 71 in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, in the consolation quarterfinals.
"I thought we had a nice carry over from yesterday's match," Keyser said.
