When Tampa Bay starting running back Doug Martin suffered a concussion in last week's game, the Buccaneers plugged in Peyton Barber as their short-yardage back and he produced two touchdowns on his five carries.
On Sunday, with Martin still sidelined by his injury, Tampa Bay elevated Barber into the starting lineup for the first time this season, and he responded with the first 100-yard game of his career in the Bucs' 26-20 overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Barber entered Sunday's game with 88 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries this season and 311 yards and three touchdowns on 85 carries and nine receptions for 59 yards in 26 NFL games since earning a spot on the Bucs as an undrafted rookie last year.
