State NFL roundup: Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears grind out victory

On the Chicago Bears offense's first snap of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, running back Jordan Howard went right up the middle for a 17-yard gain.

After that, though, it was a grind. But the Bears emerged with a 16-14 victory that lifted Chicago to 2-1, the best record in the NFC North three games into the season.

Howard (Gardendale, UAB) finished the game with 61 yards on 24 carries and 20 yards on two receptions.

Howard scored the Bears' only touchdown, going into the end zone on a 1-yard run with 6:16 left in the third quarter.
