South Alabama pitcher Zach Greene was selected by the Miami Marlins in the 15th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday.
Greene, a junior from Jacksonville, Fla., posted a 3.79 ERA with 80 strikeouts in 57 innings mostly out of the bullpen for the Jaguars in 2018. Working as USA's primary relief pitcher, the right-hander recorded two wins and five saves.
Greene -- who was drafted with the No. 447 overall pick -- joins teammates Travis Swaggerty, Brendan Donovan and Dylan Hardy as South Alabama players drafted by MLB teams this year.
