At some point in the early-to-mid part of the 2017 season, Xavier Johnson will break the South Alabama career rushing record.
Johnson enters the year with 2,225 career yards, 362 behind the school mark of 2,587 set by Kendall Houston in 2014. It's a number Johnson has been eyeing since he signed with the Jaguars out of Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Fla., three years ago.
"That's always been a goal, to get the rushing record here," Johnson said. "I'm definitely working hard to get that, my line is working hard to get that. But I'm taking it day-by-day.
