South Alabama pitcher Tyler Carr was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 31st round of the 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday.
Carr, a senior from Lake Placid, Fla., went 9-3 with a 3.53 ERA in 15 games as the Jaguars' No. 1 starter in 2018. The 5-foot-10 right-hander recorded 64 strikeouts in 94 1/3 innings.
