South Alabama center fielder Travis Swaggerty has been named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.
Swaggerty, a sophomore, batted .556 (10-for-18) with two doubles, a home run, nine RBIs, four runs scored and three stolen bases in five games last week. He posted a .636 on-base percentage and .833 slugging percentage as the Jaguars went 3-2 against Auburn, Mississippi State and Columbia.
For the season, Swaggerty is batting .488 with four doubles, two home runs, 15 RBIs, eight steals and a .616 on-base percentage in 13 games. The Jaguars (9-7) host Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday night before opening conference play at Georgia Southern on Friday.
