NEW ORLEANS – After helping the University of South Alabama men's basketball team to two victories that clinched the second seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament, Chad Lott was chosen the league's Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Lott led the Jaguars in scoring in both wins last week, also topping the team in rebounds once while shooting better than 70 percent from the floor as South defeated both Troy and Texas State to secure a berth in the semifinals of the conference tournament. The graduate transfer from Shreveport, La., averaged 19 points — making 17-of-24 shots from the field — and five rebounds in the two contests while adding four steals, a pair of assists and a blocked shot.
