South Alabama head football coach Joey Jones on Monday reiterated that an announcement on his team's starting quarterback won't come before Wednesday.
Jones announced Dallas Davis as the starter last season on Aug. 22, which was a Monday. However, this year, he elected to hold off two days until the Jaguars begin game-plan installation for the Sept. 2 season-opener at Ole Miss.
Davis and fellow junior Cole Garvin continue to battle for the No. 1 job, with Evan Orth as the No. 3. True freshman Cephus Johnson is expected to redshirt along with walk-on Wyatt Wilkinson.
