South Alabama's Harrison Louden among candidates for Campbell Trophy, so-called 'Academic Heisman'

South Alabama offensive lineman is one of 71 Football Bowl Subdivision candidates for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes the top football scholar-athlete in the nation and is often referred to as the "Academic Heisman."

Louden, a senior from Mobile, is in his second year as a starter for the Jaguars. He has started all four games this season at right guard after splitting time between guard and center in 2016.

Louden, who played high school football at McGill-Toolen Catholic School, has been named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List the last two years. After graduating from USA in 2016, he is currently pursuing a master's of business administration degree.
