South Alabama's Gerald Everett '50/50' for Idaho game with broken finger

South Alabama tight end Gerald Everett is progressing slower than had been hoped following finger surgery and might not play Saturday against Idaho.

Everett broke his right pinkie finger during the first half of last Saturday's win over Presbyterian, and underwent a corrective procedure later that night. Head coach Joey Jones said Monday that he was hopeful Everett would be able to practice without difficulty Tuesday, but that ended up not being the case.

"He's 50/50," Jones said following Tuesday's practice. "It's going to be a game-time deal."

Everett, an All-Sun Belt pick and John Mackey Award semifinalist, ranks second in the conference in receiving yards (643) and is fifth in receptions (42).
