South Alabama outfielder Dylan Hardy on Wednesday was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 13th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday.
Hardy, a D'Iberville, Miss., native, was a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection as a junior this past season. He batted .331/.409/.444 with 11 doubles, four home runs, 27 RBIs and 19 steals in 2018 as the Jaguars' starting left fielder.
Hardy -- who was drafted with the No. 400 overall pick -- joins teammates Travis Swaggerty and Brendan Donovan as South Alabama players drafted by MLB teams this year.
