It's safe to say that Corliss Waitman might just be the best left-footed Belgian-American punter in college football history, not that the list is a long one.
Then again, the list of punters in college football this year having better seasons than Waitman is not especially lengthy either. He's averaging 45.5 yards per punt this season, which ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference and 12th nationally.
In 35 attempts in 2017 heading into Saturday's home game with Louisiana-Monroe, the redshirt junior has forced 12 fair catches, put 13 inside the opponents' 20-yard line and had just one touchback.
