This time a year ago, Andrew Reinkemeyer looked like the type of player who would pass through the South Alabama football team virtually unnoticed.
The junior college transfer had been slow to recover from an Achilles tendon injury suffered in 2015, and redshirted in his first season with the Jaguars. He toiled on the scout team last fall, and went into the spring of 2017 looking like a candidate to have the dreaded "provides depth" prominently featured in his media guide bio.
But a funny thing happened on the way to obscurity. Reinkemeyer spent his redshirt year mostly in the weight room, getting back his imposing 6-foot-4 frame back into shape.
