Nov. 19 was a date Darrell Songy had circled on his calendar for months.
Songy, South Alabama's starting mike linebacker, is originally from New Orleans. Thus, he had long been looking forward to playing at LSU this weekend.
As fate would have it, however, Songy won't get his homecoming. The Jaguars (4-5) are instead playing Presbyterian (2-8) on Saturday, following a series of machinations that saw their game with LSU canceled in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.
"I can't even describe what that game was going to mean for me," Songy said. "Being from New Orleans, just like any big-time team in a certain state, you see LSU everywhere growing up.
